Introducing The Dockers® Style Awards 09

The Dockers® brand has its roots in freedom and innovation. It has always been about a chance to wear your history and express yourself with the distinctive khaki fabric that is the embodiment of casual cool.
Inspired by the style iconoclasts from the golden age of film music and fashion to the present day, the desire for self expression and individuality continues with the inaugural Dockers® Style Awards 2009.
From Buenos Aires, London, Paris, Sydney and Tokyo, five up and coming stylists were given clothing from the current Dockers® collection and challenged to tap into their own experiences and influences for inspiration in creating their own signature looks and styles.
What came back was truly inspiring. From’ Chicago Mob Chic’ to ‘Neo-Glow Rave’, the freedom to work with the collection resulted in some truly inventive ensembles. Not only did they extend the versatility and alternative to denim credentials associated with Dockers® khaki, they also stayed true to the Dockers® spirit of contemporary authenticity with the freedom to be you.
With the different styles showcased on the Dockers® EU website, visitors are invited to select and vote which of the key looks they liked best. The winning stylist with the best style combination and most votes will be invited to style the video and photo shoot for the Dockers® Fall/Winter 2009 website.
Later this year Dockers® will open the competition further to include other new young stylists. The selected group will be given an outfit from the upcoming Fall/Winter 2009 range and asked to get inspired and style it however they feel.
All looks and styles will again be showcased on the Dockers® website where visitors will be able to vote on the winning look. The lucky winner will be flown to Paris or London and work with an award winning stylist to create Dockers® Spring/Summer 2010 promotional projects.
